Autumn Break has arrived – our tips on what to do with kids
Autumn Break has arrived!
The time has come for everyone to stop and look around at the changing colour of the trees, to breathe in some fresh air and recharge ready for an exciting end of 2019. The Autumn holiday has arrived, and here are some ideas for you and the kids on what to do, see and experience.
In and around Copenhagen it isn’t hard to find exciting things to do at any given time, but these are our recommendations:
SMK Children’s Workshop
Every weekend, also during the holidays, Statens Museum for Kunst opens their doors to host the biggest workshop for children from ages 3 and up. Get stuck in with plaster, paint and clay!
Admission is free and more information can be found here: https://www.smk.dk/en/section/children-and-families/
Climbing walls at Blocs & Walls
From the age of 3 and up, why not book 2 hours of supervised wall climbing in the city’s biggest climbing center Blocs and Walls. This activity is also great to do with a group of friends and costs 250 dkk on weekdays for 2 hours with an experienced climber.

Zoologisk Have – behind the scenes
The staff of this classic Copenhagen zoo will be letting you get a close look behind the scenes this holiday, showing you what the feeding ritual entails and how to prepare for the animals that soon will go into hibernation. It will be an experience never to forget. Prices start from 105 dkk.
More information is to be found here: https://www.zoo.dk/
Of course there is also Tivoli, Louisiana and an array of films on at various cinemas. ‘Felix, Mugge og Vejfesten’ and ‘Den Lille Afskyelige Snemand’ are great films with a good message, suitable from age 5 and up.
As well as in Copenhagen, there are lots of exciting things to do in the Aarhus area, hope you will get inspired to get out and about!
‘Den Lille Prins’ Theater in Musikhuset
See our favourite book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in a wonderful theater show for the whole family at Musikhuset in the centre of Aarhus. The show is suitable for ages 6 and up and prices range from 120 dkk - 200 dkk.
